SUSTAINABILITY TRIBE WELCOMES YOU
Building a Sustainable Future, Now
A Better Tomorrow
Sustainability Tribe was founded with one goal in mind: to create a growing movement of youth dedicated to working towards a sustainable future for all. The world is grappling with problems growing in complexity, whether it be climate change, the rapid depletion of ocean resources or rising levels of conflict and poverty in developing countries. What remains clear is that these problems cannot be addressed by sticking to the status quo.

Sustainability Tribe is intended to groom individuals to be the movers and shapers of a brighter future by empowering them to be the best version of themselves and by priming them to address some of our planet's most pressing concerns.

Our focal areas change each year because it is important to us that we operate in tune with the current needs of the generation. Either way, each focal area focuses on building the capacity of persons to contribute effectively to global advancement.

Our focal areas for 2025 are outlined below.

Ocean Sustainability
Constituting over 70% of the planet's surface, a sustainable future cannot be built without safeguarding the ocean space. The Tribe focuses here on helping individuals to develop a love and passion for our blue planet.

Leadership
In a rapidly changing world, effective leadership has been identified as one of the most useful skills for jobs in the future. Beyond this however, we cannot progress in addressing the world's wicked problems without effective leadership. The Tribe spearheads a series of events aimed at strengthening leadership qualities, particularly amongst youth.

Public Speaking
Closely linked to leadership, yet often neglected, public speaking gives individuals the power to communicate in an effective manner, so that their inputs are truly heard and given the value they deserve. For far too long, we have neglected to build this skill in the individuals that require it the most: young persons passionate about effecting positive change across the globe. The Tribe is here to give a stronger voice to those who have a positive message to share.

Learn...Explore...Share!
Our modus operandi is simple. We disseminate knowledge through social media and other soft/virtual approaches - knowledge intended to facilitate the positive, individual growth needed to shape a better future for all.

Expand Your Knowledge About Our Blue Planet
Want to learn more about your planet? We'll point you in the right direction! Below are links to useful resources to expand your knowledge on our remarkable ocean planet. The resources will be renewed frequently; so, watch this space!

It's the Florida Manatee!
Goofy and marvelously large, the Florida Manatee is often referred to as a sea cow. Fun fact: their chubby bodies are as a result of their internal organs—not fat. Their intestines alone can stretch for up to 150 feet! While the Manatee may look like a walrus, it’s closest terrestrial relative is actually the elephant. They can grow up to four metres in length and can weigh up to 600kg. The Manatees are very slow swimmers, making them highly vulnerable to boat collisions and entanglement in fishing gear. They are currently considered endangered species.
